WiFi QR code generator
Print a QR code for your home, office or café WiFi and guests can join by pointing their phone camera at it, with no password to read out or mistype. Your network name and password are turned into a code right here in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
Made in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.
Enter your network name to see your QR code.
How to make a WiFi QR code
- 1Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capitals.
- 2Choose the security type, usually WPA/WPA2/WPA3, and enter the password.
- 3Tick “Hidden network” if your router doesn’t broadcast its name.
- 4Download or copy the code, then scan it with your phone to check it connects.
Features
- Works with the camera app on iPhone and Android, no extra app needed
- WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP and open networks, including hidden ones
- Special characters in names and passwords are escaped correctly
- Your password never leaves your device and isn’t shown in the image description
- Static code that keeps working until you change the password
Static QR codes, with no strings attached
Never expires
Your content is stored in the code itself. There’s no redirect link in between, so no one can switch it off, count your scans or ask you to pay later.
Nothing leaves your browser
The code is drawn by JavaScript on your device. Links, WiFi passwords and contact details are never uploaded, and there’s no tracking.
No sign-up
No account, email address, watermark or scan limit. Download as many codes as you like and use them commercially.
Many “free” QR code generators create dynamic codes that send every scan through their own short link. If the service closes, changes its terms or starts charging, those printed codes stop working. The codes made here point straight at your content, so they keep working without this site or any other server.
Frequently asked questions
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The code is generated by JavaScript in your browser. Your links, passwords and contact details are never uploaded, logged or stored, and there’s no tracking. You can check by opening your browser’s network tab while you type.
How do guests use a WiFi QR code?
On iPhone (iOS 11 or later) and most Android phones, open the camera, point it at the code and tap the “Join network” notification. Older Android phones can scan it from the WiFi settings screen or Google Lens.
Which security type should I choose?
Choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost all modern routers, including WPA3. Choose WEP only for very old equipment, and “No password” for open networks. The setting is usually shown on your router’s label or admin page.
My password has symbols like ; or :. Will it work?
Yes. The WiFi QR format uses ; , : " and \ as separators, so the generator escapes them with a backslash as the format requires, and phones read the password back exactly.
What happens if I change my WiFi password?
The old code stops working, because the password is stored in the code itself. Make a new code with the new password. Nothing else needs updating.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes: what you type is stored in the code itself, so it works for as long as the printed or saved image exists. Many “free” generators make dynamic codes that point to their own redirect link, which can stop working, show ads or ask you to pay later. These codes don’t depend on any server, including this one.
Is it really free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, watermark, scan limit or paid plan. The codes are yours to use commercially, and because the work happens on your own device there are no servers to pay for.
