Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your files are read from your device, processed in memory and saved straight back to it. They are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.

Which resolution should I choose?

150 DPI is a good default for sharing on screen, email and slides. Choose 300 DPI for printing or when you need to zoom into small text, and 72 DPI for small previews. The pixel size of every page is shown before you convert.

What JPG quality should I use?

90 keeps text and photos looking clean while keeping files small. Lower values make smaller files with more visible blur around text; 100 gives the best quality and the largest files.

How do I convert only some pages?

Click a page preview to add or remove it, or type pages and ranges such as “1-3, 7” into the page box. The two stay in sync, and pages are always saved in page order.

Is there a limit on size or pages?

PDFs can be up to 100 MB. Each image can be up to 50 megapixels and one conversion up to 500 megapixels in total, so your browser doesn’t run out of memory. If you hit a limit, choose a lower DPI or fewer pages.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Because all the work happens on your own device, there are no servers to pay for.
